How to Brew Yunnan Coffee at Home

Yunnan coffee is easy to enjoy at home once you know what kind of cup you want: a slower whole-bean brew, or a quick drip bag.

For whole bean coffee

Start with a medium-fine grind for V60 or AeroPress. Use water around 92°C. If the cup tastes too intense, lower the water temperature slightly or use a little more water.

For drip bags

Tear open the top, hang the paper arms over your cup, and pour hot water slowly in 2-3 rounds. Use about 180-220ml of water. Less water gives you a stronger cup; more water gives you a lighter cup.

What to expect from Yunnan coffee

Natural process coffees often taste fruitier and rounder. Washed coffees are usually cleaner and brighter. Honey process coffees tend to feel mellow and sweet.

Where to start

If this is your first time tasting Yunnan coffee, start with drip bags or the Slow Mill Sampler Pack. If you already brew whole bean coffee at home, start with Yunnan Natural Single Origin 250g.
